Blog Topic #1

1.    What did you learn about your current VTS skills from self-assessing Video #3 from last semester?

I think I am doing o.k. for a beginner.

2.    What do you think you are doing well? (What did you see that makes you say that?)

I consistently gestured and paraphrased. I asked for evidence about half the time.

3.    What do you think you need to work on? (What did you see that makes you say that?)
I need to work on the quality of my paraphrasing. I repeat, but don't scaffold.

4.    What behaviors/skills will you focus on developing and/or improving during the semester?

Scaffolding my paraphrasing. Differentiating to accommodate the various attention spans.

  1. Well, I think you are doing better than "okay for a beginner." I seem to remember you facilitating a video #3 discussion with kindergarteners that was well-paced, energetic, supportive, and even GRACEFUL with these little guys! It will be exciting to see how these children have grown (with your teaching) by the end of the year.
